“Star Wars” parts ways with Dark Horse; Comics heading back home to Marvel

Marvel Star Wars

StarWars.com issued a press release today ending its decades long partnership with Dark Horse Comics.  With LucasArt’s ownership transferring to Disney, it is a wise corporate move to have Disney’s own Marvel publish the flagship franchise.  Marvel originally published the original “Star Wars” comics back in 1977 for 9 years until the rights were sold to Dark Horse Comics in 1991.

The “Star Wars” comics hold a special place in my heart since they were the first comics I ever owned and read as a child, paving the way to “X-Men”, “Spider-Man” and “The Fantastic Four”.  With the 2015 release of “Star Wars: Episode VII,” this is going to become easy money for Marvel.  I would love to see Jonathon Hickman
bring his talent to these comics.
